I don’t consider myself a shill. A shill has a negative connotation and the implication is that one is trying to “influence” others in to buying into a product or service without being transparent about their intent. At the end of the day I don’t care what you do with your money. It’s yours. Make your own decisions.
I am an educator. I have been an educator my whole life and have worked in education for over a decade. I thrive on sharing ideas with others with the intent of increasing the knowledge base of the people who interact with the content I choose to create and/or curate.
Helping others develop an understanding for innovative concepts and ideas is intoxicating. Watching the energy jump from one person to the next is why I love being an educator, and I will continue to educate others about the topics I am passionate about.
As a new day dawns I am left thinking about the fact that in small communities, like we have for LUKSO, the danger of living and educating in an echo chamber of consent is a real and present danger.
If we, as a community, only ever interact with the people who are inside our community (with the people who have already taken the “Pink Pill”) then we risk never growing beyond the boundaries of our current reach.
While I realize I am describing an almost evangelical reality, I don’t think that it is necessarily a bad thing. Talking to others outside our small echo chamber encourages interactions that may be rooted in skepticism. It is this skepticism that is necessary to refine and/or redefine our own understanding of what is happening now and what might be possible in the future.
Challenging our collective assumptions and “sharpening our swords of reason” through open discussion and debate about the merits of the LUKSO project only serves to strengthen our community bond.
At the same time each new person who we interact with is an opportunity to educate about the possibility of beautiful blockchain experience designed for the “any”user and not just for the technically inclined.
If you are a technical person it is even more important that you take every opportunity possible to discuss the technological leaps forwards made by the standards team at LUKSO. Don’t assume that others know what you do. Find the common ground on which you both stand and then build from there. Find ways to translate code into memetic content that gives anyone an entry point to build on.
I have found that, especially in technical discussions, sometimes the best ways to articulate difficult concepts come from the people who are struggling to grasp them.
Thanks again for taking the time to visit the office, and remember to take one dose every weekday to keep the blockchain blues away.
