Investing in the LUKSO Network doesn’t always just mean procuring some $LYXe tokens and crossing our fingers for the price to go up. If this is you, then you are just along for the ride, and are (As Fabian has called you) the least interesting type of ecosystem participant there is.
Want to be interesting? Then contribute to the ecosystem in some meaningful way! There are many ways to get involved, but the path I am highlighting in this post is to become a Node Operator for the LUKSO Network.
At the exact moment of writing there are 164 active nodes on the L16 testnet. CLICK HERE to watch the execution clients in action. 164 Nodes in theory equals 164 unique machines running the LUKSO Network distributed around the globe. This may sound like a lot of participation, but for reference, Ethereum Mainnet currently has roughly ~5000 nodes. I know I am comparing a test network in L16, to a working mainnet for Ethereum, but I think you get the point.
What does it mean to run an L16 Node?
Read the following excerpt and just replace the word Ethereum with LUKSO.

What does it mean to "run a node"?
Run software.
Known as a 'client', this software downloads a copy of the Ethereum blockchain and verifies the validity of every block, then keeps it up-to-date with new blocks and transactions, and helps others download and update their own copies.
With hardware.
Ethereum is designed to run a node on average consumer-grade computers. You can use any personal computer, but most users opt to run their node on dedicated hardware to eliminate the performance impact on their machine and minimize node downtime.
While online.
Running an Ethereum node may sound complicated at first, but it's merely the act of continuously running client software on a computer while connected to the internet. While offline, your node will simply be inactive until it gets back online and catches up with the latest changes.
